Privacy Policy

The short version: The Bitcoin Meme Maker app collects nothing about you. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no data sold or shared. Your photos and your memes stay on your device. Zero data collection, on every platform. This website uses basic, anonymous visit statistics and nothing more.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the Bitcoin Meme Maker app for iPhone and Android ("the app"), whether you get it from Apple's App Store, Google Play, or Zapstore, and to this website, bitcoinmememaker.com. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
In the app: none. The app has no user accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect, store, or transmit your name, email, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Website analytics
This website (only the website, never the app) uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, so we know whether the site is doing its job. It tells us things like how many people visited and what country they came from. We do not use it to identify you, we do not run ads, and we do not sell or share this data. If you block analytics with a browser extension, the site works exactly the same.
Your photos and memes
When you add a photo, all editing happens entirely on your device. Face detection for the automatic laser-eyes feature runs on-device too, using Apple's Vision framework on iPhone and Google's ML Kit on Android; neither sends your photos anywhere. Your photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. Memes you save are stored locally on your device in the app's Projects folder; they are not synced to any cloud or server we control. Deleting the app removes them.
Network requests the app makes
The app works offline for almost everything. It makes only these anonymous requests, and none of them include any identifier or information about you:
- Bitcoin price & charts: when you add a live price or a historic chart, the app fetches public market data from CoinGecko. Just a price request; nothing about you is sent.
- Meme template images: when you pick a template that isn't already bundled in the app, its blank image is downloaded from the public meme-template service Imgflip and cached on your device.
- Trending list: the app loads a small public file (bitcoinmememaker.com/trending.json) listing currently-trending meme templates. It is a one-way download of a public file; no data about you is transmitted.
- GIF templates: the GIF shelf loads a small public list (bitcoinmememaker.com/gifs.json) and downloads a GIF only when you tap one, caching it on your device. The GIF is processed entirely on your device; nothing about you is sent.
As with any internet request, the services above and our content delivery network (Cloudflare) may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address for security and reliability. We do not use this information to identify you, and we do not combine it with anything else.
Sharing your memes
When you tap Share, your phone hands your image to the destination you choose (such as X, Nostr, Instagram, Messages, or your photo library). That happens through your device's standard share sheet and is governed by the privacy policy of whichever service you pick. We never see or store what you share.
Payments
Bitcoin Meme Maker is free to download. An optional one-time Pro unlock (about $9.99) is handled by the store you downloaded from: Apple's App Store on iPhone, or Google Play on Android. We never see your payment details. For the Zapstore build, the unlock is paid with a one-time Bitcoin Lightning payment; the invoice is anonymous, requires no account or personal information, and we receive only the payment itself plus a license code the app verifies on-device. There are no subscriptions on any platform.
Children's privacy
Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).
Data sales and sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, because we do not collect any. There is nothing to sell.
Your rights
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our servers. All of your content lives on your own device and is under your control. Regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA grant rights over personal data; we honor them by simply not collecting any.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
